Our Work
Below are all the Projects we have done in the past and Projects we are currently working on.
Conversation of Colour
Alongside diversity and inclusion consulting, we at Lives of Colour believe in the importance of enabling individuals and communities to own their own narratives. We run projects both locally and nationally, that give voices to people regardless of their Gender, Religion, Age, Disability, Ethnicity, Economic status, Sexual Orientation or Sexuality. Through our Conversations of Colour blog we invite you to learn from the stories and insights we have gained through our articles, video stories and podcasts.
Culture Fest
Lives of Colour is a multi-cultural event that embraces the Commonwealth by focusing on celebrating cultures and welcoming everyone from the community and beyond and giving a platform to people from all ethnicities to represent their culture at the event. We celebrate this through music, dance, food, and get artist from around the world to perform. Communities get to showcase their arts and crafts at the event, and we have children competition for the best traditional dress or royal garb as Kings and Queens of the world.

Training & Development
Diversity and Inclusion:
Business leaders: Many leaders who support D&I efforts might be sometimes far removed from the day-to-day programme activity of their organisations. They might have different misinterpretations of what is in place within their organisation. We are all aware that many organisations have subcultures, and the leaders might not be aware of some behaviours ‘on the ground’ that are causing their employees to feel that their environment is not as inclusive. At the same time, the employees might not be aware of the work being undertaken within their organisations (i.e., data collection, across different areas of diversity). It is vital that both are understood to have authentic leadership support and employee engagement in Diversity and Inclusion.
I-MMIGRATE Exhibition
This is a curation of twenty images and oral histories. These are stories of first generation black and minority ethnic communities from the Windrush generation in Gloucester and African diaspora in Cheltenham. They share their experiences of moving to and living their homeland. They choose to travel from different countries to come, rebuild and seek a better life in the UK.
Podcast Network
Our aim is to provide a platform for ethnically diverse communities to have a vehicle to share their stories and their lived experiences. Most of the communities’ stories remain untold, and by giving them the opportunity to discuss and share, it offers a perspective that many more people can learn from one another.
Young Leading and Black -STEM/TECH
Our Young leading and Black programs is to provide a safe space for our youth, to build confidence, be empowered, be equipped with the right tools to develop as adults, share lived experiences, be mentored, and find their voices to thrive
Advice and Guidance - University House Legal Advice
Lives of Colour is working in partnership with University House to offer our clients advice and guidance in regards to Housing, Employment Welfare Benefits through the Advice Portal Hub from the Legal Advice Centre (University House).
Promoting a new way to get legal advice.
The service is for advisers/support workers to receive help on existing cases, or to make full referral of appropriate cases to University House. Through the portal one can book an appointment/slot to receive support via telephone or video call, or you can use the same system to book appointments/slots for clients to receive legal support directly.
As an organisation, through University House we can support you to receive professional development support, with up-to-date information and training on many areas of social welfare law and practice.
